PushLock Privacy Policy

PushLock (package name com.tedi.pushlock) is an Android app by Teodora Rusinova that blocks apps selected by the user until a workout goal is completed. This policy explains the information PushLock accesses, how it is used, where it is stored, and how it can be deleted.

Information accessed and purpose

• Installed apps: PushLock reads the list of launchable apps on the device so the user can choose apps to block.
• App activity through Accessibility Service and Usage Access: PushLock detects the package name of the app currently opened, including while PushLock runs in the background. It compares that name with the user's blocklist and opens the workout gate when there is a match.
• Camera frames and workout activity: Camera frames are processed live on the device to estimate body movement and count repetitions. PushLock does not take or save photos or videos.
• Local settings: The selected blocklist, repetition goal, unlock duration, temporary unlock status, and coach preferences are stored locally on the device.
• Other Android capabilities: Overlay, notification, and battery-optimization settings are used only to display and reliably operate the blocking and workout features.

Accessibility Service

PushLock's Accessibility Service is used only for the user-configured app-blocking feature. It observes app window changes to identify the package name of the foreground app. It does not retrieve window content and is not used to read screen text, messages, passwords, payment information, or typed input; change device settings; or prevent the user from disabling or uninstalling PushLock. Users can decline access during setup and can disable it at any time in Android Accessibility settings.

Storage, collection, and sharing

All blocklists, preferences, unlock state, app-activity checks, camera processing, and workout counting remain on the user's device. PushLock has no developer-operated account or server, does not transmit this information to the developer, does not sell user data, and does not share it with third parties. The app contains no advertising or analytics service. Android cloud backup is disabled for PushLock.

Data retention

Saved settings and the selected blocklist remain on the device until the user changes them, clears PushLock's app storage, or uninstalls the app. Temporary unlock records remain locally until they expire and may remain as inactive local entries until app storage is cleared. Camera frames are processed only in memory during a workout session and are not retained. Foreground-app events are used in real time and are not saved as a history. Because PushLock does not send user data to a developer-controlled server, the developer retains no user data.

Data deletion

PushLock does not provide accounts and the developer holds no server-side user data to delete. Users can delete all data stored by PushLock at any time by opening Android Settings → Apps → PushLock → Storage → Clear storage (wording varies by device), or by uninstalling PushLock. Users may also change individual settings and the selected blocklist inside the app. No deletion request is required because no copy is held by the developer. Children

PushLock is not directed to children under 13.

Security

PushLock minimizes data exposure by processing sensitive information locally and disabling cloud backup. Device security still depends on the user's Android device and operating-system protections.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when PushLock's features or data practices change. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
